money
so if pay day is every friday and i start work on weds, does that mean i'll most likely get $$ after two days of working? or does it take a certain amount of time for paperwork to go through? right now i have $79 in my account, no food, 3 beers and a half pack of american spirits. i will find a way.....if only more places took card around here. i hate having to take out cash and getting charged for it each time. |

books
When I was walking around WIlliamsburg last weekend, i wandered into one of the bookstores and bought Juan Rulfo's Pedro Paramo and 2 Alain Robbe-Grillet books. They didn't have two of the books I was actually looking to buy, but I think I made out OK. Anyway, I remember having to read Pedro Paramo when I was a sr. in high school and totally hating it. Well, i didn't hate it, I think I just didn't "get it". So I finished it this afternoon while walking down dekalb from rite aid (because there was a subway accident at Hoyt-Schem////someone was killed on the tracks). I nearly tripped over a ridiculously small dog zipped up in a hideous life-jacket thing. It was so obnoxious. But anyway, I am really glad I re-read this book because it's soooo good. I found a lot of parallels between it and Faulkner's Absalom, Absalom. I mean, even though they're completely different, they are sort of written in an identical way (even though Pedro Paramo is translated from Spanish), and deal with a domineering male character who is the center of the whole story. |

too much menudo
There is a man in Mexico who weighs more than 1200 lbs. He has a really attractive girlfriend and loyal followers who give him a bunch of free clothes, new teeth, and medical aid and shit. He's not like all the other slobs followed on TLC who just sit there stuffing their faces crying about the fact that they need a stranger to wipe their butt twice a day. He ended up losing more than a third of his massive weight on diet and exercise alone! |

poop
A bird pooped on my head when I was walking down dekalb yesterday. And the first thing I thought was, "at least it didn't poop on my dress". |
